Implantable Contact Lens
ICL or Implantable Contact Lens is a refractive error solution for those who are unfit or unwilling for other refractive correction procedures, such as LASIK.
Who are good candidates?
Ideal candidate would be:
-
Are between the ages of 18 and 45
-
Have dry eyes, very high myopia, or a thin cornea
-
Have not had a change in their eyeglass prescription of more than 0.50 Diopters in a year.
What's the treatment?
As the name suggests, ICL is a kind of contact lens that is implanted straight into the eye, removing the hassles of traditional contact lenses. Recovery is extremely fast and postoperative vision is sharp. However, regular follow-ups are recommended to ensure there are no postoperative complications.
